More about us

Our journey begins with Philipp Ludescher, a former professional road cyclist whose love for the sport was ignited at the age of 7 in Roethis, Austria. Philipp's remarkable career includes becoming the Austrian National Champion on the Track, Road, and Cyclocross, representing his country in prestigious World and European Championships. Transitioning to the professional level, he competed in renowned UCI calendar races such as the Tour of Flanders and Gent-Wevelgem.

In 2009, a serendipitous meeting during pre-season training camp in Cape Town led Philipp to his South African wife, Roxane, and grew within him a profound connection with the city. Inspired by Cape Town's allure and cycling opportunities, Philipp relocated to South Africa in 2012, fully embracing his passion. In 2022, he took a bold step, leaving behind an 11-year corporate career to found RadPeak. Through RadPeak, Philipp combines his expertise with a deep understanding of personalized cycling coaching and captivating cycling routes in and around Cape Town.

Meet Christoff van Heerden, better known as Stoff, the co-founder of Cape Gravel. With a rich background as a former South African National Road Cycling Champion and a successful career racing in Europe on Pro Continental teams, also representing his country in prestigious World and African Championships, Stoff brings a wealth of experience to Cape Gravel. Transitioning to the professional level, he competed in renowned UCI calendar races such as the Tour of Japan and Tour of Hong Kong, even donning the UCI Asia leader's jersey.

What makes this partnership unique is that Philipp and Stoff became friends in 2009 when they raced against each other as rivals at the Tour de Langkawi. This shared history adds a special camaraderie to their collaboration.

Stoff's coaching journey is driven by a passion for helping individuals grow mentally and physically. His move to Amsterdam in 2020 added a global perspective to his coaching philosophy. Stoff remains actively engaged in cycling, recently placing 8th in the UCI Gravel World Champs in Italy, showcasing his diverse and extensive experience.
